  • Why Does My Jaw Hurt And Make Weird Clicks And Pops?

A: Problems with opening or closing your mouth, chewing, jaw pain, or even headaches may be due to a problem in one or both of your temperomandibular joints (TMJ). Those are the “hinges” that connect the upper and lower jaw. Dr. Fortier may be able to correct your bite to ease those problems, or he can prescribe a custom oral appliance that you wear while you’re sleeping to ease your TMJ problems.

  • What should I do during a dental emergency?

A: If you are an established patient with our practice, you should call us immediately. We will see you anytime and help you get out of pain fast. No matter what is causing your pain, we will help you return to normal, pain-free function as quickly as possible. Don’t hesitate to call at the first sign of trouble!

  • What should I Do if I Have a Toothache? [FAQ]

A: If you are experiencing pain in your tooth, it is important that you reach out to us as soon as possible. A toothache is a sign that your tooth may be injured or infected, and neither of those can wait. Call us right away. You can also take an over-the-counter pain reliever or swish your mouth with a saltwater solution to relieve the immediate pain.

  • Do you have something other than metal braces to straighten my teeth?

A: Yes, we certainly do! The Invisalign system will straighten your teeth without using any metal, and without any brackets or wires that can poke your mouth. It uses clear plastic teeth aligners that are barely noticeable by others. Invisalign treatment is quick, too. Your total treatment time could take as few as 12 months. If you get started now, you could be done this time next year – with a gorgeous new smile!

  • What types of cosmetic dentistry do you perform?

A: We offer many aesthetic dental services, all of which can enhance your smile and boost your confidence level. Depending on your needs, your options could include teeth whitening, dental bonding, veneers, gum reshaping, teeth contouring, and complete smile makeovers.

During your initial consultation, Dr. Guy will ask you a few questions so he and our team can design the best treatment plan to fit your smile goals and budget. No matter what your smile needs, we have cosmetic treatments that will spruce it up!

  • My teeth feel and look OK. How often do I need to come in for a dental checkup?

A: This is a great question, and one we’re often asked. There are several reasons why we recommend visiting us twice a year for a routine dental cleaning and exam. Regular checkups help us keep track of your oral health so that problems such as cavities and gum disease don’t develop and cause unnecessary damage.

Using advanced tools like laser cavity detectors, we can spot early-stage tooth decay that the naked eye and even standard dental tools can’t catch. Plus, regular cleanings will help keep your teeth white and bright so you can always feel confident your smile looks its best.
